Walmart Announces Partnership with Kidbox

Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) is launching its first subscription box for children’s apparel in partnership with Kidbox. Similar to Stitch Fix, Kidbox curates clothing boxes for babies, girls and boys based on an initial style quiz. Each box will include four to five items for USD 48, which Walmart says is about 50% off the suggested retail price. Parents will have the option to either keep all the items in the box for no additional fees or return everything and receive their money back.

The Walmart Kidbox stylebox will be available in sizes 0 to 14 for girls and 0 to 16 for boys. Parents can order a box and schedule delivery on demand or sign-up for automatic delivery of up to 6 boxes a year timed to seasons like back-to-school and holiday.

The retailer also said that for every stylebox purchased, Kidbox will clothe a child in need through its partnership with Delivering Good. To date, Kidbox has donated over USD 12.5 Million in clothing to children. The Company said its goal is to clothe 1 million kids in need.

“Over the last year, we have significantly expanded our portfolio of kids’ fashion brands as part of our broader effort to establish as a destination for fashion. Our partnership with KIDBOX enables us to round out our offering with additional national and premium kids’ brands” said Denise Incandela, Head of Fashion, Walmart U.S. eCommerce. Since 2018, the Company has added well-known fashion brands like Betsy Johnson, Levi’s, and The Children’s Plance to its assortment of kid’s apparel.
